Melina graduated from Emerson College in 3 years with a Major in Acting and Minor in Marketing Communications. She also studied at the Atlantic Acting School, The Berg Studio, Margie Haber Studio, and with Rooney Mara’s coach, Bob Krakower. She completed the advanced improv program at UCB and studied comedy with legends Eddie Brill and Jim Mendrinos, later performing at UCB and Gotham Comedy Club in New York.
Melina got her start while still in college as a supporting role in the indie comedy Heavy Times, which became a minor cult hit in Australia. She would continue to work on award-winning short films, receiving an Evvy Award nomination for one. In New York, Melina starred in a new play Off-Broadway at The New Theater opposite The Sing Off’s RJ Woessner. She can recently be seen in the award-winning horror-comedy, Witch-Hunt, produced by Snow White and the Huntsman writer, Evan Dougherty, now streaming on Amazon Prime. Witch-Hunt premiered at the USA Film Festival in Dallas where she and others appeared on Good Morning Dallas. She is also in the web series Nasty Habits, which won best drama at The HollyWeb Festival and Vancouver Webfest. The series also stars One Tree Hill’s Bethany Joy Lenz, Awkward’s Molly Tarlov, and Wizard of Waverly Place’s Jennifer Stone. Melina’s latest stage work was as Emma in Pop Up Theater’s Pterodactyls by Nicky Silver. Melina has done national commercial work for Dunkin Donuts and Ford Escape, working with award-winning director Simon Needham.
Melina is an active volunteer, helping out at the Burbank Animal Shelter. She also supports Planned Parenthood, the NCMEC, and The Alzheimer's Foundation of America. She loves traveling, having sailed around the Southern Atlantic on a tall ship for 6 months and visiting 11 countries, studying Greek in Ioannina where her family is from, and scuba diving off the coast of Honduras and at The Great Barrier Reef.
